What is airsoft....?

Airsoft is a combat game that is played with non-metallic, spherical pellets that are shot from a compressed air gun, also known as an airsoft gun. These guns are either manually powered, electrically powered, or gas powered.

Those who play Airsoft use a combative style, usually seen as a military sytle of combat, trying to eliminate the other players. The game can either be played indoor or outdoors, which include Airsoft battlefields that are made specifically for the game. There are several ways to play the game which include battle reenactments, military simulations that are organized by the players.

Because the plastic pellets do no leave any kind of bright mark, like paintball, to show when a player has been hit, Airsoft has what they call and "honor" system. An honor system is when the players rely on each other to be honest in when they are hit and to sit themselves out of the game. Marshals and referees are also a part of the game to help with pointing out who has been hit becuase sometimes the pellets cannot be felt by the players who are a long distance away or who are distracted from noticing when they are. If and when a player is hit they are to yell loudly that they are hit and to put their weapon and hands in the air to show they have been hit. They then back away to the safe zone.

There are many teams all over the U.S. that are put together for this sport. These teams consist of a few players to more than 50 players each team. The game also extends to other countries, like the Philippines.
